In tenth grade (as in ninth) your most important goal should be to make the most of every day. Work hard in all your classes, make your grades the best they can be, and have fun!

Fall Semester:
- I'll say it again, make sure to focus on your school work. Hard work and dedication to school are your best preparation for college - and life!
- Register for the October PSAT. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The PSAT is valuable practice for the SATs next year. You will receive your PSAT results in December.
- If you haven't already, consider joining an extra curricular activity. Whether it's Art honor society, a musical group, FBLA, or an athletic team - extra curriculars are a great opportunity to meet people, have unique experiences, and learn all sorts of real world lessons.
Spring:
- Update your college file, or start one if you haven't already. (See 9th grade timeline for a list of what this file should contain.)
- Consider participation in academic enrichment programs, summer workshops, or camps with specialty focuses such as music, arts, science, etc. Use your summer to do something interesting and gain some valuable experience.
- Meet with your Guidance Counselor to plan your 11th grade classes. During this meeting you can also discuss ideas for senior year courses and any questions you have regarding possible careers. Don't worry if you don't know "what you want to be when you grow up." There's still plenty of time to make decisions!
